Kathmandu (Pahichan) July 2 – Actress Surakhya Pant has said that she is always ready to help gender and sexual minority. Speaking to Pahichan Radio program, Pant said all the citizens are equal and they should be treated accordingly.
She said that it is unfortunate that members of this community are facing discrimination due to the their gender identity,and there is a need of an understanding that LGBTI are equal to male and female in the society.
“The issues of gender and sexual minority are receiving attention in the films. The film named Adha love also has some components of gender and sexual minority,” said Pant.
Pant said the issues of gender and sexual minority could be new issues but it is not better to present this community as a mock character in the film. She said that discrimination against this community should come to an end.
