Kathmandu (Pahichan) November 16 – Singer Dhiraj Rai has said that transgender themselves should fight for the rights. Rai said other communities are the back force and prime responsibility lies on them to achieve their rights. He underlined the need of changing social attitude towards homosexual and lesbians.
“Until and unless society understands this issue, there will not be changes in the society,” said Rai, adding that like male and female transgender should get equal rights. He said all people are equal when it comes to exercising human rights.
“Many members of this community in the world are in singing field. They have received respect and medal. In case of Nepal, they are not engaged in this field,” Rai said. He said members of this community should disclose their identity.
