Kaski (Pahichan) January 4 – The film titled ‘Ma Hoina Ma’, based on issues related to same-sex marriage which is directed by Bhusan Dahal has been screened in Pokhara on Thursday. Members of gender and sexual minority across the country were gathered in Pokhara to watch the film.
Along with screening, there was interaction on the issues related to same-sex marriage. Participants eagerly watched 90-minute long which depicts the problems faced by homosexual people after they are forced to marry with heterosexual people. Participants in the program keenly watched the program.
The purpose of screening the film was to inform the members of this community about their problems and plights. Speaking before the screening film, Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society Manisha Dhakal said like male and female, members of this community must get the rights of marriage and living together.
“A report on same-sex marriage is gathering a dust but there have not been any initiatives to implement it,” said Dhakal. She urged the members of this community to raise their voices in order to address the issues. “The constitution has addressed our rights and it is the time to implement them,” said Dhakal.
