In mid September of 2024, As I took my first step from Nayapul, Baglung the dawning light from the mountain welcomed me to its lap. I was very excited taking the journey to the Annapurna Base Camp- sites at the base of Annapurna Region which is nestled between a large mountain range in the Himalayas that includes other prominent peaks such as Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Machhapuchre(Fishtail Mountain) and Hiunchuli. The Annapurna Basecamp trek had been a dream for years; Images of Snow-Capped Mountains and 360° Himalayan Ranges. Path full of lush Forests where the air was fresh and filled with the scent of pine and wildflowers, I passed by Friendly locals, Mostly farmers tending to their fields, and the professional goat herder leading their flock through the trails, with nature trail treks guiding me, This dream was finally turned into reality, As the sun dipped below the horizon, the mountains glowed with golden hues with the 360° Views of Annapurna Range As I reached at Annapurna Base Camp(ABC). The moment was so unreal and I couldn’t believe I was standing at the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
Annapurna basecamp is situated at an altitude of 4130meters( 13,550 feet)is located only 81km away from Pokhara city which takes 7-8 days trekking with two starting routes ( Ghandruk and Jhinu Dadha), making it an accessible choice for the beginning trekkers who wants to spend their vacation with an adventures in nature. The Trails is fully connected to beautiful sceneries such as stream rivers, Suspension bridges, Wild Forest, Monastery, Gurung Villages, Water falls, mountains, hills etc. which will elevate the overall trekking experiences for the nature lovers.

How to Reach Annapurna Basecamp?
Starting a Journey from Kathmandu you can take a flight to Pokhara or a Public vehicles and Tourist Vehicles are also the options. You can Travel through the Kathmandu-Pokhara- Nayapul or You can choose the alternative routes along with other trekking destinations ( Ghorepani poonhill and Mardi trek) then you can choose the routes to Harichowk-Ghandruk or Nayapul-Syaulibazzar-Jhinu dadha you can hire a Sharing Jeep to reach the Head of the Trail( Ghandruk or Jhinu Dadha. ou can stay at a hotel in Jhinu dadha or in Ghandruk and start the trek from Next Morning. Starting trek from ghandruk and Jhinu, the Chromrong Village is the intersection of the both routes, You can see the Beautiful Tibetan stupa on the way and Gurung Village, where you can find Homestays, Hotels, Restaurants and can enjoy Gurung culture too. After taking a trail to lower Sinuwa You’ll meet the Stream River which connects Chomrong and Sinuwa Village the roads are little tough and more adventurous to reach Upper Sinuwa. You can Stay tonight there. After staying 1 night at Upper Sinuwa you can start a hike up to Bamboo- Dovan- Himalaya- Deurali- MBC , In every Points you can get tree houses with proper accomodation facilities. Depending on the pace at the same dat you can reach up to Machhapuchre Basecamp – Popular stop, situated beneath the towering Machhapuchre Himal( Fishtail Peak). Staying overnight at MBC you can resume your trail to ABC early in the morning to catch the sunrise mountains.
Which season is best for the Annapurna Base Camp trek?
Basically the Trekking Season in Nepal will starts from March-May and September-November The weather is favorable and stable for the beginning trekkers. Following the monsoon, The air is fresh and clean, offering excellent visibility of the mountains. The temperature are very comfortable, making it the most popular time for trekking in Nepal. In addition, March-May The trail is adorned with blooming rhododendrons and other wildflowers, enhancing the beauty of landscape. Winter and Monsoon trek are also possible but comes with certain challenges.

Getting Concern about health, Trekking will encompass both physical and mental well-being. Trekking will be challenging in high altitude where you can get altitude sickness. As I reached Machhapuchre basecamp (3700m) Suddenly I was hit by altitude sickness where I left my friend behind but the Hospitality in Tree house was the best they treat me like their own family member So my health was normal before taking another step for the main Destination point ( ABC ).
The Annapurna Basecamp Trek was everything I had Hoped for- and so much more. The stunning views of the Himalayan ranges, The welcoming local communities, The feeling of accomplishment – all of it left an indelible mark on my heart. The reward of trekking at the end was worth everysteps, I realize that the trekking is much more than a physical challenge-It’s a journey for the soul.
