भवानी घिमिरे /काठमाडौं(पहचिान) भदौ २४ यो त्यहि भवन हो । जुन भवन यौनिक तथा लैङ्गिक अल्पसंख्यकको अधिकार प्राप्तीका अभियन्ताको आलिशान भवन बनेर सबैतिर छायो । यही भवन हो, जुन भवनका कारण समलिंगी तेश्रोलिंगीको मातृ संस्था नील हिरा समाजको नविकरण रोकियो । यही भवनका कारण झण्डै १० महिना अधिकार प्राप्तीको अभियान छायामा पर्र्यो । केही संचारमाध्यममा आएका खवरले जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालय काठमाडौंले संस्थाको नविकरण रोक्यो । नविकरण रोकिदा झण्डै चार महिना रेडियो कार्यक्रम पहिचान बन्द भयो भने टेलिभिजन कार्यक्रम संचालन हुन सकेन ।

त्यति मात्रै होइन, समाजका देशभर कार्यरत सात सय पचास जना कर्मचारी ७ महिना सम्म तलव विहिन बने । कोही भाडामा बसेको घरबाट निकालिनु पर्ने अबस्थासम्म पुगे । यति मात्रै होइन, एचआइभी संक्रमित समलिंगी तेश्रोलिंगीको स्यार सुसार, पौष्टिक आहार समेत बन्द भयो । यति ठूलो हंगामा भएको यो भवनको भदौ २४ गते सोमवार औपचारिक उद्घाटन भयो । यो भवन कुनै व्यक्तीको थिएन र होइन पनि । यो भवन सबैतिरबाट अधिकार विहिन बनाइएका नेपाली नागरिक समलिंगी तेश्रोलिंगीको भवन हो । यो भवनको औपचारिक उद्घाटन हुँदा समलिंगी तेश्रोलिंगी नागरिकका आँखा रसाएका थिए । उनीहरु किन केही संचारमाध्यमले एक व्यक्तीको भवन हो भनेर प्रचार गरिदएको होला पनि भन्दै थिए । तथ्यमा आधारित सत्य विषय सम्प्रेषण नगर्दा फैलिएको भ्रम अन्त्य भएको दिन हो आज । 
राष्ट्रिय अन्तराष्ट्रिय दवावकाबीच जिल्ला प्रशासन कार्यालय असंवैधानिक शर्त राखेर अहिले सम्म सबैबाट हेपिएर बस्नु परेको समूदायको मातृ संस्थाको नविकरण गर्न बाध्य भयो । जति पनि आरोप लागेका थिए, ति सबै आरोप असत्य भएपछि संस्थाको नविकरण भयो । अहिले फेरी संस्थाको नविकरणको समय आएको छ । संस्था नविकरणको समयमा फेरी भ्रम फैलाएर निहित स्वार्थ लिने व्यक्तीले केही संचारमाध्यमको साहारा लिएका छन् । के पाउँ कनिका बोकौ भन्नेहरुका लागि त्यो खवर अहिले पनि सनसनी पूर्ण नै बनिरहेको छ । यस्तै सनसनी मच्चाएर निहित स्वार्थमा लिप्त हुनेहरु कोही समूदायकैबीचमा हालिमुहाली गर्न तल्लिन छन् भने कोही प्रचारवाजी गराएर समूदायलाई तहस नहस पार्न उद्धत छन् ।
समूदाय कुनै एक व्यक्ती हुन सक्दैन र यसका अभियन्ताले व्यक्ती केन्द्रीत भएर कुनै पनि निर्णय गरेनन् । यही कारण उनी अहिले समूदायका केही व्यक्तीका लागि कसिङ्गर देखिएका छन् । ति व्यक्तीलाई थाहा छैन, कसिङ्गर छिनभरको सन्तुष्टी मात्रै हुन्छ भनेर । जसलाई ति व्यक्तीले कसिङ्गर देखिरहेका छन् तिनै व्यक्ती उनको जीवन, उनको व्यक्तित्व, उनको संरक्षणमा लागिरहेका छन् । तर उनी यो किन बुझ्दैनन् जन जनको प्रश्न छ । एकान्तमा रुनु र एकान्तमा हास्नु भन्दा समूदायका लागि लड्ने हो भने सामूहिकता चाहिन्छ जुन सामूहिकता राजीनामा दिइसकेपछि पनि सुनिलवावु पन्तले देखाइरहेका छन् । यो उनको महान कार्यको सर्वत्र चर्चा भइरहेको छ । हो ठूला मान्छेका कुरा काट्न् आफू नजिकका हुन्छन् भन्छन् हो उनी नजिकका मान्छेले उनका पाइला रोक्ने प्रयास गरे । तर उनका पाइला रोकिने छैनन् । विभिन्न आरोप लाग्दा पनि कपोलकल्पित आरोप सामना गर्दै आफू जे हो त्यही प्रमाणित गर्दै आएका समलिंगी तेश्रोलिंगीका अभियन्ता सुनिलवावु पन्तलाई सबैको सहयोग रहन्छ भन्नेमा दुईमत हुँदैन । अघि बढ सुनिलवावु साथ दिने हामी छौ भन्ने समूदायका सदस्य रहेसम्म अधिकार प्राप्तीका अभियन्ता पन्तलाई डगमगाउने प्रयास नगर्दा उचित होला कि ?
विवादमा परेको भवनको समाचार पढ्नुहोस ।
समलिंगी तेस्रो लिंगी समुदायका लागि काठमाण्डूको धुम्बाराहीमा नयाँ सामुदायिक केन्द्र स्थापना भएको छ । नर्वे र अमेरिकी दुतावासको आर्थिक सहयोगमा निर्माण गरिएको पिंक हिमालयन केन्द्रकोे आज उद्घाटन भएको छ । समलिंगी तेस्रोलिंगी समुदायको स्वतन्त्रता, वृतिविकास तथा सिकाईलाई प्रवद्र्धन गर्ने उदेश्यका साथ स्थापना गरिएको सामुदायिक केन्द्रमा कार्यालय क्षेत्र, टेलिभिजन तथा रेडियो स्टुडियो, आवास गृह लगायतका सुविधा छन् । समलिंगी तथा तेस्रोलिंगीको अधिकारका लागि काम गर्दै आएको नील हिरा समाजको कार्यालय पनि अबदेखि पिंक हिमालयन केन्द्रमै संचालन हुने नील हिरा समाजकी अध्यक्ष पिंकी गुरुङ्गले जानकारी दिनुभयो । केन्द्रको उद्घाटन समाहरोहमा नील हिरा समाजका संस्थापक अध्यक्ष सुनील बाबु पन्तलाई सम्मान पनि गरिएको थियो ।

In the presence of international delegates, media and community people, the new community centre “The Pink Himalayan Centre”, built for the LGBTI community of Nepal and South Asia region was inaugurated on 9^th of September 2013 in a grand function.  Blue Diamond Society received financial support to build this center from Nepal government, Norwegian government,  Danish embassy,  US embassy and contributions from community members  in and outside the country.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Norwegian Ambassador to Nepal Alf Arne Ramslien, Australian Ambassador to Nepal Glenn White, UNAIDS Country Coordinator Dr. Ruben F. Del Prado, and U.S. Embassy Cultural Affairs Officer Marissa Polnerow.  The event also honored Sunil Babu Pant, Founder and ex-Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society and a Member of Parliament (2008-2012). 

Mr. Pant said that the idea to build the centre six years ago came to him when HIV patients from the LGBTI community were being evicted from places where they were getting shelter and care.  So BDS approached the Norwegian Embassy who provided funding to build this centre.  It is built on the model of a similar centre in New York City in the United States.  Mr. Pant said that this will not just be a concrete structure but a true home for the community, a safe space where they can be comfortable and not have to worry about being judged and harassed.  As a community devoted to the well being of its members and the country, BDS will be investing in arts, sciences and cultural activities.

Dr. del Prado of UNAIDS said that the LGBTI community of Nepal had achieved their dream of building its own centre and he praised this huge achievement.

H.E. Ambassador Ramslien of Norway who was the chief guest at the function, also credited Mr. Pant and his senior team for their unparalleled dedication to the cause of marginalized sexual and gender minorities in Nepal.  The Ambassador also called on the community members to set their sights high on the star and never be scared to work for their noble cause.

Ms. Pinky Gurung, President of BDS praised Mr. Pant for the immense contribution he had made to get the LGBTI movement in Nepal off the ground.

The community centre has office space, a TV and radio studio, a cafeteria, a shelter, conference facilities, and space for vocational skill building classes.  The motto of the centre is to promote empowerment, learning, sharing and freedom. This center also has ‘solar power back up’ system, ‘water harvest’ system. Blue Diamond Society, Nepal’s leading LGBTI rights organization will be relocating its offices from Lazimpat – where it has been based for the past 13 years since its founding – to its new premises.
