Bara (Pahichan) June 25 – A transgender has been severely beaten in Bara district damaging the hair. She used to assigne to dance providing 80 thousand per year. According to Purnia Shrestha, Program Coordinator of Blue Diamond Society Nepal Bara Chapter Shiva Sahani beat the transgender Arun Sahani(Kajal).
Arun used to participate in the village since three years. Speaking to Pahichan, Purnima said, “We have registered an application at District Police Office demanding to take action who was involved in beating.” Sahani also registered complaint at Blue Diamond Society.
Human Rights activist Durga Thapa said Sahani was kept as a slave. “It is a slave, we cannot force people to work against her will or interest,” Thapa said.
Shila Pattel of Blue Diamond Society informed that they have registered an application seeking action to the people. Police office has invited all for the discussion on Ashad 16.
