Bake (Pahichan) October 7 – Members of sexual and gender minority have demanded to collect the actual data of this community. Though government started to collect data through national census, it has not been effective.
Speaking at a program organized by Ministry of Women and Senior Citizen and Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City they demanded to set up a unit for the same purpose.
Parina Chaudhary of Paschin Tara Nepal said state should ensure the rights of sexual and gender minority. She questioned, “Why our community is not getting employment that matches with their educational certificate? She said members of this community should get opportunity to fight for job.
She also demanded the right related to allocation of properties, adoption of children among others. Members of this community are not receiving appropriate environment to get the education as per their wishes.
Dhawal Shumsher Rana, Mayor of Municipality requested to allocate budget to this community. He said members of this community should get treating with equal footing like male and female.
