Kathmandu (Pahichan) October 15 – Members of sexual and gender minority are not allowed to be recruited in Nepal Army. The vision 2030 prepared by Nepal Army does not mention about inclusion of this community in national army.
The constitution has guaranteed the inclusive representation of all marginalized community, including sexual and gender minority but NA has not made any provisions which is a violation of constitutional provisions.
NA Spokesperson Gokul Bandari clearly ruled out the entry of sexual and gender minority stating that only male and female are eligible to fight. Earlier, NA has expelled a homosexual couple and it is rigid about the recruitment of sexual and gender minority in the force.
However, Public Service Commission has made the provision of recruitment of this community in the civil servant.
