Kathmandu (Pahichan) December 4 – In their national identity card, gender identity of sexual and gender minority would be mentioned as Other (O) category. Any members, who are not willing to name themselves as male and female, can get ID mentioning O.
According to Shiva Raj Joshi, Director of National Record and Identity cared, they are collecting the information of sexual and gender minority.
“Members of sexual and gender minority can get ID card under O category but we have not received any information about this community,” he said.
Officials say though some members are taken citizenship card under O category they are reluctant to continue same identity in gender section. Members of this community are still reluctant to disclose their identity.
