Pokhara (Pahichan) December 13 -Transgender who are facing discrimination from their own family and society have been facilitated for the first time in Pokhara. They were facilitated on the 16- day campaign against gender violence.
Jagaran Abhiyan Pokhara has facilitated two organizations which are working for the transgender human rights and issues related to their health.
Chief of Naulo Bihani, Chief of Pariwartan Nepal Bindiya Gautam, Partiwartan chief Raj Chhetri and Director of Naulo Bihani Naina Gurung were facilitated in the program. Members of this community who are facing discrimination from the state are felt happy to get facilitation. Members of this community said they are still facing difficulties to acquire citizenship.
Speaking in the program, Raj Chhetri, Chairman of Pariwartan Nepal said he is happy to get such opportunity at a time when members of this community are facing discrimination from home and society.
