Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 2- Department of Passport has said that altogether 26 people have received Machine Readable Passport mentioning Others (O) in gender category till January 2019. Department has started distributing passport under category since August 2015. Manoj Sahi, Monica was the first to receive passport under ‘O’ category.
Later Santu Pun of Rupandehi and Bhumika Shrestha of Kathmandu took passport mentioning ‘O’ category. Members of LGBTI who have received citizenship under ‘O’ category are eligible to get passport under ‘O’ category.
Distribution of MRP began from December 2010. The number of peace receiving passport has reached 57 lakh, 40 thousand and 171 and 80 percent of them are male. We took this news from Naya Patrika Daily.
