Flood affects the functioning of BDS office in Terai

Kathmandu (Pahichan) August 17 – Floods triggered by heavy rains in Terai have affected the Blue Diamond Society office resided in Southern parts of the country.  BDS offices of Hetauda in Makwanpur district and Narayanghat branch at Chitwan district have reported to be safe and everything is fine. But, offices in other districts have been badly affected by floods.

Among 23 districts in the Terai belt, only eight of them have come to contact. The remaining districts are not being connected with the head office. The phone is not being reached in those districts.

BDS has branches in all those 23 districts, but only eight of them are in contact, while the remaining is not yet been able to be contacted through any means. BDS staffs from Nepalgunj have reported for situation being okay in their office. With low rain in couple of days, offices in Terai are gradually returning to normalcy.

Jhapa: The office has been filled with water and it is stinking

Morang: The office has been full of water and is stinking. The building of office is cracked. There is no food.

Siraha: 3 people are contactless

Rautahat: Office is full of water

kalaiya: Water filled office. Twelve people are contacless.

Sarlahi: There shall be problem to send reports. The lights are off.
