Kathmandu (Pahichan) August 19 – Blue Diamond Society (BDS) has made a request not to take marriage of Monika Shahi as a same-sex marriage.
BDS said as same-sex marriage law is in final stage, the decision taken by some individual people should not be taken as a legalization of same-sex marriage.
Society has made it clear that the marriage between Monika and Ramesh Nath Yogi cannot be accepted as same-sex marriage.
Issuing a press release Chairman of BDS Pinky Gurung and Executive Director Manisha Dhakal made it clear that it is not same-sex marriage.
“Yogi has wife and son in the home and he has not divorced with wife. He married with a transgender women. So it cannot be justified,” they said. Society would not support such move because it is unjust to family and children.
BDS also said that it cannot support this marriage. Society has said that its attention has been drawn about the media reports about the same-sex marriage. He said same-sex marriage has been registered on the basis of individual access.
