Kathmandu (Pahichan) November 10 – LBT conference which was supposed to take place on November 13-14 has been postponed for December 19-20 in Kathmandu. The program was postponed due to the federal parliament and provincial assemblies which is taking place on November 26 and December 7 in two phases. Similarly, some LBT members have joined temporary police, according to nightlights activists Bhakti Shah.
“Various issues such as reasons behind not disclosing the identity, future challenges and other issues will be discussed,” said Bisoraj Adhikari, Program Officer of Norweign Project. The program will also deliberate other physical and related issues of mental health.
Transgender male Sudeep Gautam said there will be in-depth discussions on physical and mental health. The transgender male are using binder to conceal their breast which is creating a lot of problems, there will be discussion on how to resolve such issues, said Sudeep. Adhikari said several health issues will be discussed in the conference.
BDS chairman Pinky Gurung expressed happiness as such program is taking place first time. “We are holding first LBT program and we need to make it effective,” said Gurung.
