11th AGM of Gender and Sexual minorities concludes

Kathmandu (Pahichan) December 28 – Eleventh Annual General Meeting of Federation of Gender and Sexual Minorities has been concluded. The program was started by Gauri. Manisha Dhakal, chairperson of FSGMN started with a welcome speech. She said, “A lot of networks had been formed. Till today, they collapsed. We know their condition. But FSGMN is the network that is being better as time is passing. We should feel proud on it.”

She reminded the members how they have worked for years and come to success since 2007. Today the capacity of CBOs has increased, as now four of the CBOs can directly deal with the donor agencies.

Women representative from Kathmandu metropolitan city ward number 2 Ishwari Pariyar was very happy with the organization. She said, “It has been more than six years that this organization has been working in this ward. We are closely connected with this organization. If LGBTI people need any kind of help from the side of ward, we are always ready to help.”

Similarly, Simran Serchan explained on projects of FSGMN. The project of Linkages Nepal has run in five CBOs. The project of Restless Development was run in six districts for LGBTI adolescents below 19 years, which has been phased out. Right Here Right now project is starting from 2018. A loose group on vunerable women and trans has been formed. Kailash Adhikari added that total 53878791 ruppes has been spent till this year. The projects are shrinking and there is funding gap.
