Police officer faces charges for beating transgender

Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 15 – Police has severely beaten two transgender when they were in their way to their friend’s room to celebrate valentine Day. Police beat transgender Simpal KC and Natasa Pariyar.

They have sustained injury in their eye, chest and leg. Blue Diamond Society has registered a complaint at National Human Rights Commission. The complaint states that police officer used some objectionable words.

Both transgender said it is against the spirit of human rights to use such words and behave them in a rude way. They have demanded stern action to the police official who was involved in attacking to them. Police Officer Yogendra Thapa of Police Range Office Maharajgunj confessed that such incident took place.

Thapa said incident took place when police tried to remove the transgender who were near to police van. He, however, said there was not attack to transgender and injury was due to other reasons.

Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung said that it is ridiculous that transgender blocked police van. He said such logic was made with a purpose not to take action against the culprit.
