Lalitpur (Pahichan) February 21 – A WoW Festival of all types of women has concluded. The festival was organized at Pulchok Engineering College. Women Members of gender and sexual minority took part in the program. There was a discussion about the challenges faced by women and how to overcome them. A panel of the program was focused on Women and Sexuality.
In the program, transgender Rukshana Kapali and homosexual women Laxmi Ghalan participated. Rights activist Sumira Shrestha has moderated the panel. Advocate Subha Kayastha, Public health doctor Madhurima Bhadra and visually-impaired rights activist Shristi KC participated.
Participants shared their views on how they are suppressing their sexual desire due to the social taboos and values. Laxmi Ghalan shared the challenges she is facing in the society.
Rukshana Kapali reached to stage with pieces of paper in her body. She had written various sub-tiles in the pieces of papers which society is imposing to them. Kapali said she wants to break the values of patriarchal society. In the program, members of this community expressed commitment to fight jointly to secure rights.
