NSC to organize futsal competition of LGBTI community  

Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 5 – National Sports Council (NSC) has decided to organize a futsal competition targeting sexual and gender minority. The competition which will be organized by NSC and coordinated by Blue Diamond Society will take place in Kathmandu on Bhaishak 6-7 (April 19 And 20, 2018) in Kathmandu.

Executive Director of BDS Manisha Dhakal said the program will play a vital role to highlight the inclusive policy guaranteed by the constitution. The competition aims to provide a message that there is not any discrimination to this community in sports.

There will be participation of two teams from Kathmandu and five teams outside the Kathmandu valley. Altogether 63 LGBTI members are participating in this program.

The modality of futsal has already been finalized and detail information will be provided on Friday, said Min Kumar Sharma of NSC. It is estimated that one million budget is required for the competition.  The first, second and third team will get cash prize.
