Transgender Rana to get Nai Ram Laxmi Award

Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 7 – Transgender rights activist Aanik Rana will secure this year’s Nai Ram Laxmi Award. According to Secretary of Nai Prakashan Narendra Raj Prasai, decisions to ward Rana has been taken respecting the contribution made by Rana for the welfare, dignity and active role to secure the rights of sexual and gender minority.

The award comprises 50 thousand cash. Nai publication has also decided to offer Nai Koilidevi Award to Biso Balav who is hugely contributed for the growth and expansion of Nepali language through women Nepal songs.

Similarly, Sarod Neupane will get Nai Khara Gaurab Puraskar. Both prizes carry fifty thousand cash.  Similarly, Dr. Paridhi Sharma will get Nai Paurakh Puraskar for his contribution in the singing and teaching field. The awards will be provided in the 99 birthday of Dr. Satya Mohan Joshi.
