Kathmandu (Pahichan) April 19 – Now, applications are opened for Miss Pink Competition 2018. The competition is taking place on May 17, the international day against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia. Members of this community willing to participate in this competition can submit their application by April 30.
Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society Manisha Dhakal said the aim of program is to create awareness about the human rights and health related issues of homosexual, transgender, inter-sex, bi-sexual. The preliminary selection process will take place in first week of May.
After selecting 18 transgender women , they will be provided training from May 7-16. Transgender women above 18 are eligible to participate in the contest. The contest will be in four rounds. The winner will get 50 thousand; the first runner up will bet 40 and second runner up will get 30 thousand cash prize.
On the same day, the drama Jiudo Aakash which has incorporated the issues of gender and sexual minority will be staged. In 2016, the title of Miss Pink was bagged by Aanik Lama.
