Two day futsal match concludes, far-western team wins

Kathmandu (pahichan) April 21 – Far-western team has emerged as victorious in the national futsal match of sexual and gender minority. The far-western team defeated Kathmandu- A with the margin of 8-0. The team has received 50 thousand cash prize, medal and certificate.

 This was the first match organized from governmental level targeting sexual and gender minority. Kathmandu A has secured second position which received thirty thousand cash, medal and certificates.

Kathmandu-B has secured third position defeating eastern team with 2-0 goal. Kathmandu-B has secured 20 thousand cash, medal and certificate. Far-western team reached the final game defeating eastern with 10-0.  The futsal competition was organized by National Sports Council, managed by Blue Diamond Society and coordinated by Futsal Association. Raju Lama, team leader of winning team, said they have the desire of winning the medal in international match.

Captain of Kathmandu-A Bisoraj Adhikari said they are happy for securing second position. Sudeep Gautam of Kathmandu-B said it is a matter of happiness to secure third position in a game that demonstrated better coordination. The competition was inaugurated by Minster for Youths and Sports Jagat Bahadur Bisokarma, which lasted for two days and altogether 63 players from across the country took part in the match.

National Sports Council said it took 10 lakh fifty thousand to organize the program. The Council said it is just a beginning and it will be continued in coming days as well. The Blue Diamond Society has already initiated a process to register a sport association of gender and sexual minority. In 2012, a south Asian level sport festival of sexual and gender minorities were organized.
