Makawanpur (Pahichan) June 8 – Provincial Assembly of province no.3 has rejected the demands of LGBTI community . Lawmakers from Nepali Congress had tabled a proposal in Parliament seeking to incorporate the policy and program of transgender but the house rejected such proposal with majority votes.
Santa Bahadur Praja, Bijula Barma of Nepali Congress had tabled a proposal seeking to ensure the representation of all minority community including gender and sexual minority but House did not own. They had sought amendment to incorporate the issues of women, Dalit, people with disability and transgender.
During the discussion on policy and program, Lawmakers Bijula Barma and Bijaya KC expressed the objections for not incorporating the demands of gender and sexual minority.
Parliamentary Party leader of NC Indra Bahadur Baniya said people will evaluate about the decision taken by Parliament. The ruling parties have not provided any comments on it.
