National Federation of Disabled objects PSC vacancy

Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 6 – National Federation of Disabled has expressed the objection over the advertisement published by Public Service Commission seeking recruit government staffs.

A week earlier, PSC called public advertisement to recruit 9961 but only three are seats of disable people.  The federation has expressed the objection for not providing space to this community.

Vice-chair of Federation Ramesh Lama said Civil Service Act has allocated five percent reservation for the disable people. This seriously violates the UN conventions, Nepal’s Constitution and Act related to the rights of disable people. The Federation has also urged Public Service Commission to republish the advertisement ensuring five percent reservation for this community.

The article 42 of the constitution has ensured social justice rights to sexual and gender minority on which there would be representation of people with disability, marginalized community, Muslim, youths, farmers, laborer among others in state mechanisms.  The advertisement has also not provided space to sexual and gender minority. The Federation has warned of launching series of protests if advertisements are not corrected.
