Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 24 – Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal has said that laws which are formulated ending all sorts of discrimination are applicable for all.
Speaking at Parliament, Dhakal said laws would address gender violence and other issues. Dhakal further added that suggestions put forth by lawmakers would be taken into consideration. Altogether 32 lawmakers have asked questions in him. Out of them, Chandra Kanta Chaudhary from Rastriya Janata party demanded to ensure the rights of sexual and gender minority.
Chaudhary was the only lawmaker who spoke about sexual and gender minority in Parliament. He urged to ensure free of cost legal access. He further added that a mechanism to protect human rights. Dhakal, however, did not mention about this community in his address.
