Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 24 – A group youth have attacked a community of sexual and gender minority in Thamel in last year. The normal dispute was escalated in attacks.
Transgender Sunita Lamal who was on the spot to resolve the dispute was sustained with an injury in her left eyes.
According to Anira Baidya, a doctor, at Bir Hospital said treatment is underway in hospital. “Initially, they were returning their home but they pelted stones,” Sunita said. Sunita said one boy pelted stone in her eyes. Sunita claimed that there was attack with a purpose of taking human lives.
Few months back, transgender Junu Gurung died in Lazimpat when a boy thrashed her. Police has said that it was the result of dispute between two sides. Police Official Binod Ghimire said two people have been taken into custory after the investigation.
