Kathmandu(Pahichan) September 24 – Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinki Gurung has said that members of gender and sexual minorities are facing sexual violence in the schools. Speaking at a program, Chairman Gurung pointed that transgender are facing problems when they go to toilet.
Transgender are facing more violence than the male. “The environment of schools should be homosexual and transgender friendly,” Gurung said. She demanded separate toilets for the members of this community at the schools. “Due to such problems member of this community are facing several psychological problems,” said Gurung. The members of this community are facing difficulties to acquire the school-level education. According to her, though the curricula of grade 6,7 and 8 have some provisions about the transgender, teachers are not properly trained. She underlined the need of training about the sexuality of this community.
