Ambika Dahal/Lalitapur (Pahichan) January 13 – Focal Person of National Human Rights Commission Manju Khatiwada who is responsible to look after the rights of children has said that NHRC is receiving no complaints regarding the problems faced by inter-sex.
Khatiwada is focal person of UN Child Right Convention. “We have received one complaint from Sundhupalchok, I want to request Blue Diamond Society to document the complaints against us,” said Khatiwada. According to her, even BDS has provided very few complaints regarding inter-sex. CCRC will also lend support in the case of inter-sex, according to Khatiwada.
She informed that there have been discussions regarding the CRC report in United Nations and issues of this community have been raised in other country as well. The issue of child right convention has not been properly highlighted in Nepal. In this regard, Deputy Director of BDS Parshuram Rai, and Ishan Regmi, a staff working in Norwegian Project drew the attention of National Human Rights Commission. “NHRC is responsible to do these tasks related human rights, we are committed to address issues of inter-sex,” said Khatiwada.
