Arrange separate health facilities for us : LGBTI

Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 5 – Gender and sexual minority has demanded to set up a separate health clinic exclusively for the members of this community.

At an interaction program organized by Blue Diamond Society, participants said that there is not an easy and comfortable environment to them in the health posts for this community.  As members of this community are facing high risks of health hazard, they demanded LGBTI friendly health services.

Transgender rights activist Jack Brayan suggested not to use Harmon without consulting with doctors. Asked about the duration of eruption beard after the use of Harmon, Jack said some people will get beard within two years of its use but it is not sure all people get beard.   “We should not use Harmon haphazardly without consulting to doctors who might create health problems,” said Jack. According to him, it would be better to go for health check up every month after the use of Harmon.20160204_143232

According to Janson Brayan of UPNDP though menstruation would be stooped after the use of Harmon, it would not affect health.  Jo Wang of Asia Pacific Transgender Network said he would help to translate the blue print into Nepali. The blueprint is about human right, health and employment of LGBTI community. Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society, Manisha Dhakal it is a positive progress if blue print is translated into Nepali language. Dhakal informed that they are pressing the concerned authorities to arrange separate health facilities for this community.
