Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 10 – Singer Jharana Gurung has said that it is sad that gender and sexual minority are facing discrimination due to their gender identity. She said that like male and female all the citizens having separate sexuality and gender should be treated equally in the society. Gurung said homosexual and transgender should get the opportunity to live with dignity. “What do you do if a sexual minority is born in your own family,” she questioned.
She is of the view that same-sex marriage should be legalized. “They should be allowed to get the right to get marriage with the people they want,” said Gurung. Gurung said she has not discriminated to anyone urging all to treat transgender like male and female. “This is the reward of nature, like female and female they are born by father and mother,” Gurung said. Gurung is Nepal’s first rock singer and her album was published in 2013. She is preparing to publish another album
