Good news for Nepalese LGBITS

Kathmandu (Pahichan) February 23- Here is good news for Nepalese LGBTIs. Blue Diamond Society (BDS) has come clean through OIG’s (GFATM) long and thorough investigation. With the clean cheat from, it has been established that BDS team is working with honesty, integrity, resilience and hard work to ensure rights of LGBTI.  

The OIG has informed that ‘it has completed its work in connection with its visit to BDS in July 2013’. “We do not need any additional information from you at this time and we thank your inquiry,” said Inspector General in an email communication to Sunil Babu Pant, founder of BDS.

“Big gratitude to the ‘whistle-blowers’ who had brought this case against BDS at OIG/GFATM; this case, indeed, proved to be a unique opportunity for us to practice further ‘Tolerance, Patience, and Compassion,” said Pant, a former lawmaker who is struggling to ensure the rights of this community.

He also thanked to OIG for not being biased (as some of the news in Nepal and informants were not so kind to BDS and myself) and do the job with due diligence. It’s been more than 30 months since your team investigated Blue Diamond Society in July 2013.

Executive Director of BDS Manisha Dhakal said it is all about the honesty. “We knew all those allegations were false, now which has been proved so,” said Dhakal.
