Makawanpur (Pahichan) February 25 – Targeting the students of sociology, classes on sexuality has been arranged in Makawanpur District. The class was held for the second year students in Makawanpur Multiple College on gender and sexuality. The program was operated by Blue Diamond Society following the request from Professor Bhim Prasad Timalsena. Though constitution has already provided rights to this community, society has not changed its mindset towards LGBIT.
In this context, according to Timalsena, students of sociology should know about this community. Program coordinator of BDS Suraj Thapa said this is related to the sexual freedom of any individual and society should know about it.
Transgender Juli Chepang and Sumit Poudel said discrimination against this community begins from home. They said individual freedom should not be breached. Students said they gained knowledge about the LGBTI and it would be better to inform society about this community.Timalsena thanked for conducting classes following his requests.
