Kathmandu (Pahichan) March 5 – Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung has received passport mentioning O category in the gender section of passport. Earlier, Gurung has taken citizenship under O category. Department of Passport is providing passports under O category.
The first transgender to get passport under O category was Manoj Shah, Monica. After Ministry of Home Affairs has issued circular to district administration committees to distribute citizenship under O category to LGBTI, it has been easy for the members of this community to receive passports.
Gurung said it is a matter of happiness to receive both citizenship and passport. “It is our identity. The constitution provisions should be implemented,” said Gurung.
