Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 7 – Homosexual and transgender will present their cultural show at the party announcement ceremony of Naya Shakti Nepal that will take place on June 12.
“There will be our cultural program in the party announcement program,” said Chairman of Blue Diamond Society, “They will perform a dance in the program.” Gurung is a member of Interim Council of Naya Shakti.
According to her, Naya Shakti is treating members of this community in a respectful way in comparison to other parties. “The new party should clearly mention about it in its party statute,” Gurung said stating that it should be mentioned in the preamble of the constitution. Just before second CA, a team led by Sunil Babu Pant joined the CPN-UML.
However, they have joined Naya Shakti stating that UML used them as a vote bank. “Without political understanding and sources it is difficult to institutionalize the rights of transgender,” Gurung said, “We have joined the Naya Shakti to secure our rights.”
