BDS organizes candlelight vigil to honour Orlando victims

Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 17 – Dozens of gender and sexual minority and other people came together in Kathmandu on June 17 to shed tears at an emotional candlelight vigil for the victims of mass shooting targeting LGBTI in Florida America. 

LGBTI 1A gunman opened the first at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando killing 50 and injuring 53 people.  Blue Diamond Society organized the vigil candle expressing their sorrow and wishing the speedy recovery of the people killed in shooting.

Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinki Gurng demanded to take measures so that such incident will not repeat in the future. Gurung said only progress in some corners of the world will not make them happy.BDS

“We want to see and hear the progress of all LGBTI across the country,” said Gurung stating that Nepali community has expressed solidarity against such incident. Few months ago, two LGBTI people and journalists were killed in Bangladesh.

Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society Manisha Dhakal the program is peaceful and it has protested the mass shooting. “It will help us to increase our solidarity across the globe against such shooting,” said Dhakal. Now, there has been a heinous crime against the LGBTI in the development country like America.
