Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 21 – Transgender rights activist Bhumika Shrestha has said that the agenda of LGBTI is same though members of this community would get the important posts in the different parties.
Speaking to Pahichan Radio program, though members of this community remain in separate parties’ agenda they raise would remain same. “I feel happy when members of this community get the higher position of any parties,” said Shrestha who is affiliated with Nepali Congress and who has been convention representatives during the 12th General Convention of Nepali Congress.
“The basis of joining the political party is ideology and thoughts, I am in Nepali Congress and will remain in the same parties, other friends are free to join any party,” said Shrestha. She said members of this community have received the constitutional rights. She said politics helps to make aware about national issues. She was not convention representatives during the 13thconvention. “I will remain active in the party mainly in Tarun Dal, Mahila Sangh and other sister organizations,” said Shrestha.
