Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 25 – Gender and sexual minority community has called on inter-sex people to take initiations to implement their rights.
They also suggested starting the works as per the report submitted by UN Committee. In a meeting with Joint Secretary of Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare Kiran Rupakheti, the members of this community asked to implement the convention, according to Deputy Executive Director of Blue Diamond Society Parshuram Rai.
The convention held in Geneva few days back provided suggestions on sex, family, society and discrimination to inter-sex chaildren that take place in school. The Joint Secretary said though the issue of inter-sex is new, there is a need of awareness campaign.
He said tough there are several organizations working in the field of children, they are not working in favour of children.
For this purpose, inter-sex people should have a high morale. As Ministry is preparing to change the laws, it is believe that issues of inter-sex children will be incorporated.
