Ministry pledges to implement Geneva recommendations

Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 29  – Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare has made a commitment to implement the suggestions provided by Geneva Convention regarding international convention on child rights. In a meeting with Blue Diamond Society, Secretary Madhusudan Regmi said Ministry would gradually implement the rights of transgender.  

According to Regmi, suggestions regarding the homosexual, transgender and inter-sex children will be gradually implemented.

According to Deputy Director of Blue Diamond Society Parshuram Rai, Regmi said that Ministry has pledged to implement all the suggestions of Geneva Convention.  Rai informed that such children are facing discrimination in the education, health and other facilities.

He said such discrimination should be ended and Ministry should issue a circular to concerned departments to end such discrimination. Regmi assured that Ministry would treat all people in an equal way. He also assured to participate this community.
