Silver Medal winner Karki discloses his gender identity

Kathmandu (Pahichan) August 21 – Silver Medal winner of Taekwondo player Nabaraj Karki has revealed that he is a bi-sexual. He bagged the title in the international Para Olympic competition held in India. He is the first player to disclose gender identity.

Navaraj“I have dreamed of winning Golden Medal but I owned Silver Medal,” said Karki who is first bio-sexual in Nepal to disclose gender identity.

“I was in very pessimism but when I reached to Blue Diamond Society Lalitpur Chapter, Manoranjan Baidhya provided me the opportunity to participate in the sports competition organized by gender and sexual minority,” he said.

Navaraj is also second runner of south Asian Marathon competition organized by Blue Diamond Society.  The program was held under the initiation of Sunil Babu Pant four years ago.

He said Nepal should again organize sports competition of sexual and gender minority. “If such competitions are held i would provide an opportunity to the people to disclose their identity,” he said.

“There have been a lot of changes so more and more people should disclose their identity,” he said adding that who had to return without filming forms as O category was not mentioned. Karki does not have his right hand but he participated in the program.
