Kaski (Pahichan) September 8 – Chairman of Blue Diamond Society Pinky Gurung has underlined the need exercising of rights ensured by constitution. Speaking at the concluding ceremony of two-day national consultative meeting held in Pokhara, Gurung said the rights provided by state should be implemented.
Gurung said homosexual and transgender who are participating in the program have not taken citizenship and passport as per the gender identity. She said very few people have taken the passports and citizenship as per their gender identity.
There was the participation of nearly 200 LGBTI in the national consultative meeting. Gurung asked the participants to receive passport and citizenship as per their gender identity.
Gurung said the eight-point declaration made by the conclave should be implemented adding that policy and action plan adopted by BDS should be implemented by all.
She said only the efforts made by center would not be sufficient so that it is necessary to do something from district level as well. She said that there is a need of pressing government to implement the same-sex marriage.
