Naya Shakti first party to submit memo on LGBTI issues

Kathmandu (Pahichan) September 23 – Naya Shakti Nepal has demanded to end the violence against women, Dait, children and gender and sexual minority. In a memorandum submitted to Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister and District Administration, it has been stated that discrimination against this community should be ended. “Discrimination against women, Dalit, Children and gender and sexual minority is serious crime,” the memorandum submitted by Naya Shakti reads.

bdsAlong with leaders and cadres of Naya Shakti, members of this community who assembled at Hanumanshtan, demanded to provide cash to earthquake victims and control the black marketing and sky-rocketing price hike in daily commodities. Chairman of Blue Diamond Society and Head of Minority Department of Naya Shakti Pinky Gurung demanded to end the violence against this community.

They also demanded to address the demands of farmers such as fertilizer and provide them new technologies. They also demanded to end the violence in the public transport.

They also demanded to ensure employment to youths and if it is not possible, they demanded to provide unemployment allowances, according to Gurung. Naya Shakti is a first party to submit memorandum mentioning the rights of gender and sexual minority. Earlier, no parties have submitted memorandum on the minority issues.
