Bhumika to fight for Tarun Dal Central Committee member

Kathmandu (Pahichan) October 25 – Transgender Bhumika Shrestha has announced her candidacy for the Central Committee member of Nepal Tarun Dal. The fourth General Convention is taking place in Pokhara and she is preparing to file her candidacy from the marginalized and reservation quotas.

Bhumika, who has already been elected as general convention representative of NC, is giving her candidacy as per the amended provisions of statute. She has already begun her publicity campaign through the social media.

“Without a political access, we cannot establish our rights, as NC is a best party, I am active in this party,” she said adding that she is active to give a perception in the society that members of this community are equal like female and male in the society.

“As a Central Committee member of Tarun Dal, I have to fight for both overall youths and rights of this community,” Bhumika said adding that members of this community are active in several parties and common purpose of all is to maintain a social welfare.  “Whatever party, we join; our purpose is to raise the issue of this community. Beyond that we have our own ideology,” Bhumika said.
