Laws should be formulated respecting constitutional provisions: TMLP leader Lal

Kathmandu (Pahichan) December 17 – Vice-chairman of Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party Brikesh Chandra Lal has said that constitution and law should be progressive and forward loooking. Speaking to Pahichan, he said that there are a lot of flaws in the constitution in terms of language and other contents.

“We are talking about rewriting the constitution because there are lots of mistakes so correcting them is not sufficient,” Lal said, adding that if constitution has not accommodated the rights of this community that should be addressed through the amendment process.

He said it is excrement thinking to say that constitutional rights should not be translated into laws. He said anyone could seek legal remedy if they are denied from such rights. He said members of this community are gradually receiving rights and will get more in course of time.
