Lalitpur (Pahichan) February 5 – Human rights activists have demanded to make civil and criminal codes gender and sexual minority friendly. At a discussions organized to discuss the discriminatory provisions of civil and criminal code they underlined the need of ending such discriminatory provisions.
Eshan Regmi and Rukshana Kapali of Blue Diamond Society said marriage should be between two people instead of male and female.
They said instead of male and female, family members should be incorporated in the bill. Participants said not only the gender and sexual minority all the members should collectively raise this issue.
“This issue should be a common issue instead of rising by some people,” they said. They urged to remove all the discriminatory provisions that exist in the proposed bills.
