Dang (Pahichan) February 13 – District network Dang of human rights activist has demanded to legalize the same-sex marriage. It said current civil and criminal codes are discriminatory. It has demanded legalizing same-sex marriage in the memorandum submitted to District Administration office.
It said marriage should not be defined as a male and female and it should be between two people. Shilpa Chaudhary, a representative of Blue Diamond Society is associated with the network. The network has submitted its 18-point demand to the office, according to Chaudhary.
Chaudhary said that discriminatory provisions regarding the transgender and homosexual should be scraped without any delay. Few days ago, same memorandum was submitted to Speaker Onsari Gharti demanding to amend or scrap discriminatory provisions.
