Gender and sexual minority could be candidate in FSU elections

Kathmandu (Pahichan) March 1 – Student leader Arpana Khadka has said that homosexual and transgender could become candidates in the Free Student Union election. She has announced her candidacy for the presidency in Padma College.

She expressed the commitment of accommodating this community if they come with their open identity. She said that women are oppressed in the male-dominated society. Khadka said there is a need of changing the education curriculum to make it more productive.

Khadka said members of this community should not be denied from education on the basis of gender and sexual minority. “There are problems in the houses, in the society and in the country. The problems faced by this community should share with others,” Khadka said. She suggested picking up those candidates who are popular among students.
