Kailali (Pahichan) March 7 – Dhangadi Chapter of Blue Diamond Society has provided orientation to the students about the behaviors and reality of gender and sexual minority. The program was attended by more than 50 students of various schools.
The students were informed about their concerns, issues related to human rights and social view towards gender and sexual minority. After the orientation, students advised that there is a need of more publicity among this community and it is better if some classes are operated in the schools and colleges.
They also expressed the commitment that they will inform their family and society about the gender and sexual minority. Karuna Nepal, Treasurer of Society said there is still lack of knowledge among students about this community. She said the issues of this community should be incorporated in the upper level of education. Currently, it has been incorporated from class 7-10.
