Makawanpur (Pahichan) April 5 – Bir Bahadur Shrestha, a resident of Hetauda-4, has apologized for using abusive words against transgender Sandhya Lama. Lama has filed a case at District Police Office on Chaitra 7 seekingaction against Shrestha on the defamation.
Shrestha sought apology after the police asked him why he used abusive words. He also expressed the commitment of not repeating such words in the future. She approached the police after the repeated rounds of her efforts to convince Shrestha not to use such words.
Due to the lack of attitude change towards this community, members of this community are facing problem. Whatever written in law, society is yet to understand and embrace this community. “There is a need of creating awareness about this community from state level,” said Lama.
