Kathmandu (Pahichan) May 1 – Lawmaker Bhimsen Das Pradhan has said that leadership could be developed providing reservation to gender and sexual minority. He said there has been same practice in the field of women. Pradhan said he is always responding in a positive way when it comes to the issues of gender and sexual minority.
“I took initiation to ensure the representation of Bhumika Shrestha. In the first time of party’s political history, Bhumika became convention representative in 12th convention,” said Pradhan.
“The situation of transgender is pathetic. They are being expelled from society and they are hapless,” he said. According to Pradhan, members of this community are still facing a lot of problems , including the issues related to citizenship.
“A people wept after knowing the plights of transgender,” he said adding that like women, members of this community could reach at leadership level if they get reservation.
