Vacancy Announcement 

Kathmandu (Pahichan) June 16 – Blue Diamond Society (BDS) announces vacancy for the post of International Fellow in India and Bangladesh. The detail of the vacancy is given below. 

As we all know that BDS has been implementing different projects. Among them “FK Norway” project is also one which is running from last year August 2016. The project is in collaboration agreement between 3 organizations – Bandhu Social Welfare Organization (Bangladesh), Humsafar Trust (India) and Blue Diamond Society (Nepal) which are working on sexual and human rights for LGBTI. The objectives of the project is to exchange the community friend from one country to another country, facilitate mutual learning, contribute knowledge and skills and sharing best practices for the development of the host and home organization through learning exchange program.

International Fellow- Humsafar Trust (India) – 1 position based in Mumbai and Bandhu Social Welfare Organization (Bangladesh) – 1 position based in Dhaka for 1 year each

  • International Fellow should try to fulfill the outcome of Humsafar Trust (India). The outcome is given below:

Expected Outcome 1 – Increased numbers of MTH PLHIV (MSM, Transgender & Hijra PLHIV) have access to ART (anti-retroviral therapy) linkages and health care support in Mumbai district.

Expected Outcome 2 – Consistent reporting, documentation, and follow up of instances of crisis, harassment, discrimination and abuse.  This increase in reporting will address cases of violence at the earliest by the legal cell. Violence among MSM has been documented as one of the key vulnerable factors for HIV/STI infection.

  • International Fellow should try to fulfill the outcome of Bandhu (Bangladesh). The outcome is given below:

 

Expected Outcome 1 – Reduced risk behavior among Young MSM and TG of Bangladesh.

Expected Outcome 2 – Target group has access to non-discriminatory mental health counseling from BANDHU (mental health center)

Expected Outcome 3 – BANDHU has initiated orientation programs on SRHR (Sexual Reproductive Health Right) and transgender issues in schools in order to increase awareness about sexual minorities

Qualification:

-Intermediate cleared in any subject

-At least 2 years of previous experience working with NGO/CBO

-Good knowledge on issues of sexual and gender minorities

-Familiar with MS-Office package and internet

-Fluent in English (written & speak)
