Kathmandu (Pahichan) October 26 – Blue Diamond Society is preparing to launch a program for the identity of gender and sexual minority children. The BDS is going to implement the program with a view that children themselves should be capable for their won rights.
Save the Children is providing assistance for the program. BDS Executive Director Manisha Dhakal said the program aims to reach out among family, community and children. Dhakal it is a challenge to return children to their homes who have abandoned their houses. Dhakal said program helps members of this community to disclose their identity.
Mina Parajuli, Senior Program Coordinator at Save the Children said the purpose of project is to inform guardian, teacher and students. “Similarly, sexual orientation and interaction are other components of programs,” Parajuli said. Separate ground of guardian and students will be formed for the security of transgender children.
The program will run till 2020. Seven schools of Kathmandu and 3 districts of Banke has been selected for training and interaction programs.
